To the people staying there, this small-scale hospice is as near to a ‘home away from home’ as can be.
In June 2017, Hospice Schagen opened its very own facility on Johan Vermeerstraat in Schagen. The stunning new building is equipped with everything that’s needed to provide its guests with the most comfortable accommodation possible. Hospice Schagen aims to offer a home away from home — a place where people can spend the final stages of their lives in complete peace and dignity.
A homely chair was important to the Hospice, as a sense of homeliness prevails throughout the facility. Eventually, the Hospice settled on the Esparta model with upholstery specifically designed for the care sector. The Esparta model used by the Hospice is a care version of the Mecam Group consumer chair. It combines upholstery and properties specifically designed for the care sector with homely features such as a swivel base and bright colours.
